Cap d'Ail. A short coastal run west of Monaco, ideal for testing a convertible along the cliff road before lunch at one of the beach clubs. Parking is limited near the water, so a compact coupé is often the easier choice.
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The peninsula's narrow lanes and gated villas reward a car with tight turning and quiet presence — a Porsche or well-specced SUV handles the climbs and hairpins without fuss. Good for an afternoon away from the harbour.
Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Close enough for a lunch reservation, with a marina front made for a slow pass in something open-top. The lower Corniche here stays smooth and unhurried compared with the Grande Corniche above.
Cannes. A longer outing along the coast, best suited to a GT or convertible with real cruising comfort. Hotel valet parking along the Croisette makes arrival straightforward, especially during festival or market weeks.
Saint-Tropez. The furthest of the five, and worth treating as a full day or overnight. Inland roads before the final descent into town favour a car with confident handling — a Lamborghini or Ferrari earns its keep on this stretch.
