Costa Brava Coastline. North of the city, the coastal road narrows and climbs past pine headlands and small harbours. A convertible or GT suits the pace better than a sedan; leave mid-morning to avoid weekend traffic near Tossa de Mar.
Penedès Wine Country. Inland from Barcelona, vineyard roads around Sant Sadurní d'Anoia are wide and largely empty outside harvest weekends. A Range Rover or Bentley handles the gravel estate drives without fuss, and most wineries offer private parking.
Montserrat Mountain Roads. The approach road to the monastery has tight switchbacks and steady gradients, better suited to a Porsche 911 or similar than a low-clearance supercar. Parking near the summit fills early on clear days.
Sitges Seafront. Half an hour south along the coastal motorway, Sitges rewards an early evening arrival when the promenade traffic thins. Valet parking is common at the boutique hotels lining the seafront.
Girona's Old Town. The AP-7 motorway makes Girona an easy loop from Barcelona, though the medieval centre is largely closed to cars. Leave the vehicle in one of the perimeter car parks and continue on foot into the old quarter.
